In December 2007, LFD was engaged by Aldi Inc. to represent it in a patent infringement action brought against it by Heeling Sports Ltd. Heeling alleges that Aldi infringed three patents, U.S. Pat. Nos. 6,406,048, 6,739,602, and 6,746,026, by offering for sale or selling Tiger Paw Air Skate Shoes.
Aldi has alleged in counterclaims that the Heeling patents are invalid and unenforceable. Aldi intends to vigorously defend against the infringement claims.
The action is pending in the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division.
Heeling claims the intellectual property rights to Heeling’s shoes.
Representing Aldi are Jim Flegle and Corey Weinstein.
